  • Overview

    Provide leadership to achieve the strategic mission and objectives for the Irvine CA Operation.  Develop and implement policies and programs which enable the organization to achieve its short and long term business goals.  Provide an environment that allows for continuous innovation, growth and development for employees and ensures the long term vitality of the business. This position has overall responsibility of insuring that Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, IT, Facilities and Plant Service functions meet the company needs to support the organizational goals and objectives.


    • Develop direction, strategy, and plans for the Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Planning, Facilities and IT groups. Provide a solid foundation for continued process stability, cost control, and quality improvements.
    • Support service level goals through maintaining a steady supply of quality Vitrase in the US.
    • Achieve and maintain proper compliance to GMP’s, ISO requirements, and internal policies and procedures.  Control critical manufacturing processes; maintain product identification, inspection, test status, and traceability throughout the manufacturing cycle; control non-conforming product and processes; analyse quality findings throughout the plant and initiate corrective action for improvement.
    • Insure that all facility related policies, procedures and programs are in place and executed to provide a safe, secure, and comfortable workplace. Ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place and followed.
    • Support the growth and development of employees to fully utilize their skills and reach their full potential. Provide leadership, training, and team building opportunities for employees.
    • Work with manufacturing support functions to insure that organizational goals are being achieved.
    • Insure that the facility operates in compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, safety and health codes. Obtain and adhere to all necessary permits as required by law.

    Scope of Position:

    • Responsible for the site’s Operating Plan
    • Manages Key strategic Projects.
    • Maintains Site KPI’s and monitors progress with the organization.

    • BS degree in Science or Engineering.
    • 10+ years’ experience in a management position within a Pharmaceutical or Biologics manufacturing organization
    • Lean Manufacturing Certification a plus
    • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus
    • Excellent mechanical aptitude, oral and written communication, project management, and organization skills required
    • Thorough understanding of GMP/ISO requirements pertaining to manufacturing operations.
    • Experience with financial planning, standard cost analysis, and capital planning responsibilities
