Supervise and hire employees who are responsible for the primary, secondary and tertiary packaging of sterile ophthalmic solutions. In some cases this position may supervise multiple shifts within a department.
Provide strong people leadership with a focus on creating/maintaining a positive work environment through effective communication, performance management, accountability, etc. This includes time and attendance review and maintenance for all department employees.
Manage staffing levels and budget spending.
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising line assignments; resolving problems and report results on shift production summaries.
Write investigations and CAPA actions for non-conformances in the department. Work with QA to quickly resolve any variance or document errors so that product may be released on time. Lead Problem solving activities.
Analyze Production efficiencies, downtime and component waste. Lead teams to improve the results. Participate in finding a “better way”.
Ensure all SOPs are current, and training on SOPs and processes remains current.
Scope of Position:
Supervise and hire employees who are responsible for the primary, secondary and tertiary packaging of sterile ophthalmic solutions during weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am - 7:00pm) and 2 days during the week on 2nd shift from 5:30pm to 2:00am. In some cases this position may supervise multiple shifts within a department
Maintenance Department - Packaging Machine Specialists
Education: BS or BA Degree, prefer Technical Degree
Advanced problem solving such as Six Sigma and Lean training, Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
Experience: 2-5 years Manufacturing Supervisory experience required. Experience in a regulated industry with automated packaging experience preferred.
Preferred Skills: Computer skills – Proficient in the use of Excel and Word. Demonstrated project coordination skills, excellent time management and organizational skills required. Technical writing, problem solving tools preferred.
